Thanks to the kindness of the Wynberg Rotaract Club and Avis Coach Hire the younger children at Zanokhanyo experienced Christmas a little earlier this year. Avis kindly sponsored a coach and driver to collect the children and transport them to the party which was held at the Groot Constantia Wine Estate. They were beside themselves with excitement and felt very privileged to be transported in such a beautiful van.

When they arrived they all jumped on the tractor trailer full of straw bails for a ride up the hill to arrive at a very magical place with a castle and an outdoor area filled with straw bails as seats. All the children were so excited as they were allowed to throw the loose straw at one another and some unsuspecting adults as well! Enter a marching band playing some tunes and took all the children around the block marching wildly and then allowed the children play the instruments. Zanele has a future as a potential flutist! Noddy and Big Ears arrived hooting their horn on their car and brought lots of delicious ice creams for all the children. Then it was time for dinner and Christmas Carol singing! Who is that we see behind the castle coming over the top? Why its FATHER CHRISTMAS -- he helped the children blow out all the lights and there were even some fireworks. A little fairy came in to help us switch the lights back on and brought all the children some magical sweets. Father Christmas had brought presents for all the children which they very excitedly opened - dolls, toys and other delights!  It was then time to wave goodbye to the beautiful magical castle and headed back on the tractor.

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts to Laura, Uncle Paul and everyone at the Wynberg Rotaract Club who hosted this Charity Evening and sponsored the evening for our 10 children. Also to Lucy, Annebel, Tania and Nolan from AVIS for their kindness and generosity in sponsoring the van. We hope to be back there next year!
